Response at sea

Use of dispersant
Aerial surveillance  

The primary response method at sea is mechanical containpment and recovery. The controlled use of dispersants is allowed, following prior official authorization from Director of DFMR

Related Legislation  

Article 7 of Cyprus Law No.57 of 1989 determines that “the use of dispêrsants or other chemical sustances for pollution combatting is prohibited, without the approval of the Director of the Fisheries Department of the Ministry of Agriculture and Natural ressources”.

Delimitation zones for the use of dispersants  

In water depth of more than 30 meters outside the boundaries of coastal national parks, marine reserve and especially protected zones identifies in the NCP
