UNEP-MAP Mid-Term Strategy (MTS)

The Mediterranean Action Plan of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP/MAP) Mid-Term Strategy (MTS) was prepared to guide the path of MAP in protecting the Marine Environment and the Coastal Region of the Mediterranean and contribute to sustainable development of the Mediterranean Region for the period 2016-2021.

Regional Strategy (2016-2021)

The overarching objectives of the Regional Strategy for Prevention of and Response to Marine Pollution from Ships (2016-2021) are prevention of pollution from ships; prevention of maritime accidents; and preparation for response to major pollution incidents.

Ballast Water Management Strategy

The Mediterranean Ballast Water Management Strategy aims to establish the framework for a regional coordinated approach in the Mediterranean on ships’ ballast water control and management which is consistent with the requirements and standards of the International Convention for the Control and Management of Ship’s Ballast Water and Sediments (BWM), 2004.

Mediterranean Offshore Action Plan
