Visit of EUROSAI Working Group on Environmental Auditing to REMPEC – Oct 07, 2015

REMPEC welcomed the participants to the EUROSAI Working Group on Environmental Auditing (WGEA) Annual Meeting, hosted by the National Audit Office (NAO), at its premises on 7 October 2015. 

The said Working Group comprises 43 European state audit institutions (SAIs) as its members. Its main objective is to improve the management of natural resources and the environment in each country represented in the Working Group, and to make Europe a leading region in the area of good natural resources and environmental management in the public sector.  Through its activities, EUROSAI WGEA aims to promote cooperation among its members based on integrity, open communication and professional excellence.  The following link to the Working Group’s website provides further information on its mandate, organisation and activities: www.eurosaiwgea.org

Mr. Gonzalez Deogracia, Head of Office of the Centre, introduced REMPEC, by presenting inter alia a brief background, its activities and main achievements in the fields of prevention of, preparedness for, and response to marine pollution from ships,  emphasing in particular the IMO Member State Audit Scheme (IMSAS).
