Bringing the ocean to the people : our next challenge - Sunday 19/06 at 6pm - Malta National Aquarium – Jun 15, 2022

The Regional Marine Pollution Emergency Response Centre for the Mediterranean Sea (REMPEC) is happy to extend the invitation from the French Embassy in Malta to its next event, « Bringing the ocean to the people : our next challenge », a talk co-organised with the Malta National Aquarium, REMPEC and the University of Malta.

The ocean covers over 70% of the surface of our planet, and yet too often it remains on the sidelines of major events on the international and European agenda. As a regulator of the major environmental balances and especially the climate, provider of all kinds of rich natural resources, a major channel for trade, a vital link between countries and human communities, the Ocean is today threatened by the effects of climate change, pollution (especially due to plastic) and the over-exploitation of marine resources.

On Sunday, June, 19, (6pm), Rempec, the University of Malta, the Malta National Aquarium, the French Embassy and well-known personalities such as Alan Deidun & Mark Galea Pace will strive to cover a multitude of themes of global scope to discuss the ocean in all its dimensions, and provide solutions, in addition to the observations already made.

Let's all try to take up the challenge: 'Bringing the ocean to the people'!
