Translation of POSOW I Project material in Arabic and Turkish – Jan 03, 2016

Within the framework of the POSOW I Project, Manuals, PowerPoint Presentations, Posters, a video and a brochure, were developed as part of a set of educational material to train professional and volunteer operators working in civil protection services, in municipalities and in NGOs.

The said material covers four (4) themes, namely:

  1. Oiled shoreline assessment;
  2. Oil spill volunteer management;
  3. Oiled shoreline cleanup; and
  4. Oiled wildlife response.

The Posters and Power Point Presentations were made available in the six (6) languages of the beneficiary countries of the Project, namely in Croatian, Greek, French, Italian, Slovenian and Spanish, whilst the four (4) manuals were produced in English only.

The Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT) and the General Directorate of Maritime and Inland Waters (DGMARINWA), partners of the POSOW II Project, translated all the above mentioned material in Arabic and Turkish, respectively. The material is now available in several languages on the Documentation section of the POSOW website.

This training material will be used during the Train the Trainer Courses to be held from 18th to the 29th April 2016, in Brest, France. They will then be disseminated to the regions of the beneficiary countries, as a supporting material to train volunteers at a local level.

A new brochure summarizing the objectives and outcome of the Project has been prepared as well in English, Arabic and Turkish and can be downloaded from here.
