REMPEC delivers presentation on MARPOL Annex VI to the members of the Malta Joint Branch of the RINA and the IMarEST – Mar 03, 2011

On the 3rd March 2011, Mr. Jonathan Pace, Senior Programming Officer, and Capt. Joseph Zerafa, Safemed Project Officer, Maritime Safety, delivered, on behalf of REMPEC, a joint presentation on MARPOL Annex VI, which regulates prevention of air pollution from ships, to the members of the Malta Joint Branch of the RINA and IMarEST.

Mr. Pace first presented a general overview of the MARPOL Convention while Capt. Zerafa delivered the part on Annex VI of the Convention, which was recently revised and which came into force on 1 July 2010. Related ongoing work at IMO and future developments relating to Annex VI were also highlighted.

At the end of the presentation, Mr. George Aquilina, Chairman of the Malta Branch, on behalf of the Branch and the members present, thanked the REMPEC officials for their contribution.
